We are very pleased to have been an early catalyst in the resurgence of downtown Rockville Centre. Although we had a number of obstacles to overcome to bring this project to fruition, we were helped immensely by the support of Supervisor Kate Murray and the IDA’s Fred Parola. In the end, the effort was well worth it. Avalon Rockville Centre is a luxury rental community with 349 one and two bedroom apartment homes. It is situated on seven beautifully landscaped acres with an array of first class amenities, including gourmet kitchens, an outdoor pool, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and outdoor BBQ and lounging areas. The community — which is Energy Star certified and is the first National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Green Certified Rental Community in the Northeast — is well located in downtown Rockville Centre, steps away from the LIRR. Avalon Rockville Centre replaced a long dormant, former industrial site that was a blight to downtown Rockville Centre. It has brought PILOT payments, significant construction jobs, permanent employment, new residents, and enhanced economic activity to the neighborhood.
