IDA Helps Fence Firm Expand in Freeport
One
of Long Island's leading firms in the manufacture, sale and installation of
fencing will expand its operations in Freeport under an agreement with the Town
of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency.
Without a package of incentives from the Hempstead IDA, Rose Fence would have
had to move its operations outside the Town of Hempstead, said Fred Parola, the
IDAs executive director.
Tax and fee abatements and exemptions will enable Rose to expand its
manufacture of PVC fencing in a 30,000 square foot building at 215 Buffalo
Avenue in the Freeport Industrial Park. The company will move from an
8,000 square foot nearby building in a transaction valued at $3,116,000,
covering acquisition of the land and purchase and renovation of an existing
building.
"The IDA's mission is to encourage economic development in order to improve
employment in the Town of Hempstead," Parola said. "In this case, some 164
jobs will be retained in the town and another 61 jobs will be created over the
next two years. Its a win-win situation for everyone involved."
Rose Fence, headed by Scott Rosenzweig, is headquartered in a retail sales
building at 345 Sunrise Highway, Freeport, a short distance from the new
manufacturing facility.
The Town of Hempstead IDA is a non-profit public agency authorized by New York
State to promote economic development and job creation through financial

The Town of Hempstead, the most populous town in the United States, is
committed to responsible economic development, emphasizing its stable tax base,
